Old St. Croix captures the spirit of the West Indies in every drop. Our blends honour the legacy of Danish pharmacist Albert Heinrich Riise, who more than 150 years ago made Danish-West Indian spirits known around the world under this historic name. Today, we carry on the tradition, creating soft, rounded aromas that evoke warm breezes, exotic scents, and the taste of the old Caribbean. We’ve created a timeline that tells the story of more than 150 years of Old St. Croix. Among the highlights is the gold medal at the 1893 World Exhibition in Chicago.
Taste of Sunshine – and a Tribute to St. Croix
The name Orange Grove comes from a historic area on St. Croix, where orange groves and sugarcane once grew side by side under the Caribbean sun. In the 19th century, the island’s oranges were renowned for their exquisite quality – thanks to the stable climate, gentle trade winds and fertile soil.
With Orange Grove, we honour that tradition. The liqueur is crafted from oranges of equally high quality sourced from the Caribbean and Central America, carrying its name as a loving tribute to the island’s fruitful past.

175 Years Anniversary
In 2013, we marked 175 years since Danish pharmacist Albert Heinrich Riise first opened his Apothecary Hall on Saint Thomas in the Danish West Indies.
